a11mcr Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 do the 1997 ghia x galaxys have an alarm and if so how do you know it works?the led flashes but no indicators and siren? also there are no sensors it the car?cheersmark Quote
big_kev Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 You can test to see if you have an alarm by opening the drivers door....pushing in the door switch near the hinges....so that the vehicle thinks the door is closed and then locking it with the remote.....or key if you have long arms or a friend. Then when you let the button go the alarm should sound. Also if you look at the control box under the passenger seat there should be 3 leads connected to it rather than just 1 or 2 ...( not 100% on this though). Quote
studsmassive Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 i belive it should have as also my glx should have but as my old control box with three plugs got wrecked i could only get one with two so hence no alarm Quote

a11mcr Posted April 29, 2010 Author Report Posted April 29, 2010 just had a good luck and NO alarm, only two plugs on the box and the plug under the bonnet is blanked off.I thought the top of the range ghia x would atleast have an alarm? (my old 1992 escort lx even had an alarm).Any advise on an after market one that can link into the cars system?mark Quote

Toad's generally arn't as fussy with their wiring as cliffords so can be easily plumbed in by most competant people. I've got a TOAD Ai606 on mine ;) Quote
